In recent years the life and work of the Russian psychologist Lev Vygotsky have been the centre of numerous attempts at conceptual clarification and critical reflection. The book examines the origins of his famous cultural-historical theory. The aim of this study is to deal with the pre-history of his thoughts. The study opens new facts, corrects mistakes and represents historical and methodological analysis of Vygotsky's psychological theory.
